The Essay On Wildlife By Grade 11 Student -Ms Luanoska Kange

Introduction
Wildlife sustains the life on earth. Without wildlife mankind would not have existed. The wildlife provides food, fuel, and other important elements that supports the human life and ecosystem. In this essay, the discussion will focus at two areas; the importance of conservation and protection of wildlife and the role conservation plays for the future development of PNG .The discussion will reflect Ramu Valley settings, which contributes to the national goal of conserving and protecting the wildlife and finally wind up with summary.

What is wildlife? According to Oxford Dictionary (2002), wildlife is refers to animals, birds, and other living things, sometimes including vegetation, living in a natural undomesticated state.

Firstly, the importance of conservation and protection of wildlife is an idea Conservationist promotes so that the Earth's natural resources is conserve for future development. Conservationist is a person who work hard to save the Earth's natural resources and conservation is the protection and wise use of natural resources.

What natural resources can be found within Ramu Valley? They are plants, animals, air, insects, reptiles, water and land (etc.). These things makes life easier for man and wildlife on earth including Ramu Valley.

For example; in 2014 during dry season Warias Creek was dammed by Ramu Agri-Industries to water the seed sugarcane fields, preserving the seed sugarcane field so that its seedlings are plant in commercial fields. The birds and other animals drinks from Warias Creek thus it save the lives of other natural resources to support the ecosystem during the biggest dry season. Some natural’s resources are renewable while others are nonrenewable.

The renewable resources are plants, they can be cut down but or replace with new ones; animals are renewable through reproduction, water and soil are also renewable resources. Ramu Agri-Industries needs healthy soil to plant sugarcanes, grow grass at Gusap Downs to feed the cattle.

The fossil fuels are nonrenewable resources. They includes coal, oil and natural gas. The plants and animals died millions of years ago which have turned into fossil fuels. The increase of human population have simultaneously increase the demand for fossil, in this way deleting them at the faster rate.

Many of the natural resources are used for various purposes. The land in Ramu Valley is scarce natural resources. The company like Ramu Agri-Industries needs healthy soil to grow the sugarcanes, farm cattle, and grow oil palm tress.

The water is an important resource for domestic and for commercial use and the wildlife drink from it. The Warias Creek dam is use to water the seed sugarcane field during dry season.

The Ramu Valley has clean air that is good for her inhabitants and it’s a home of many natural resources like insects, birds, snake and grasslands.

Secondly, the important role conservation plays for the future development needs of Papua New Guinea. The more tropical forests are harvest for commercial purposes as well domesticate needs, the carbondioxide will increase thus affects the lives of wildlife as well human. The wildlife will have not homes to live in or feed on it. They die out thus will affect the ecosystem that will have ripple impact on lives of people as well as wildlife. Many wildlife endanger species will die. The future generations will not have opportunity to see them and use them.

Year in year out, the Ramu sugarcane field and the valley's grassland are victims of fire. If there is continuous burning of sugarcane fields, grasslands- the home to wildlife and cutting down trees, there will be many environmental effects as well as economic consequence. Many wildlife will disappears in the flames of fire.

More the top soil expose to sunlight, it become vulnerable to wind and rain. The win will blows them away while rain will cause soil erosion which ends up in the creeks and rivers that affects the wildlife living in there.

The country needs to protect endanger species so that future development needs is protected. The current generations must cautions the way the natural resources is used to provide opportunity for future generations.

The country needs to establish many wildlife parks so that future generations have the opportunity to see for them and use them for survival. For example; many reptiles or plants homes and sources food are destroyed hunt for food or human consumption, as a result, many of these wildlife die out.  As a result of human action, the future development needs will be affected.

Hence, it is important that educational awareness is essential method to educate the local communities to conserve and protect many wildlife so that future development needs is protected.  For example; future Scientists needs plants, reptiles or the wildlife to conduct research to finds answer for many medical diseases that may arise in future as current science is not future solution. The science is developing subject, in this way, future science find its own solution using natural resources today’s generation persevere.

In summary, the conservation and protection of wildlife is very important. The human population has increased at the same time demand for natural resources has increased. This is likely to future affect future development needs and future generation will no opportunity like we have today.

The government, non-government organizations and private sectors should heavily invest more resources to persevere the extinction of wildlife to run community educational awareness program through Papua New Guinea.
