Papua New Guinea Political leaders enter Parliament ONLY to enrich themselves than empowering their Voters/People's potentials.
They enter Politics for ONLY one thing that is to become millionaire through corrupt deals. Almost all the politicians enter Politics in Papua New Guinea automatically become instant millionaires.
They do not enter Politics because they want to serve the interest of people but their own interest. They enter Politics with poverty ridden lives, many running on luck with near to broke to zero, a run down business name tags, with last life saving they have, and many briefcase carriers of sitting Members of Parliament with corrupt experience and knowledge. They go in with linking holes in their pockets.
After their term of five years in Parliament is complete they come out with millions of kina in their pockets.They use every resources available within their means to ensure they stay on power. The biggest factor that plays a leading role is money, it wraps up people voting choice.
Many of the Politicians, in-fact they're not true leaders. They have no Visions to improves the socioecomic lives of people. All they want is to achieve making money, educated and feed their children with dirty money. Most Papua New Guinea Politicans kids are studying overseas. Where did they got the school fees? Who pays for them?
Papua New Guinea Politics is largely influence by profoundly rooted social and cultural backgrounds. They plays big roles in determining where the votes is to swing. To survive in Melanesian society, one must have land, family, clan and tribe where one finds security of belongingness.
If one votes outside of society's common value, he/she deregistering their names on the generation name lists. To avoid Political base social tensions, they have little choice but to go with norms of the society to reinforce their social affiliation.
Many of the people are Politically illiterate thus do not engage in informed Political choices. May be one day as society moves into contemporary life, things might change, however, money will play pivotal roles to determine the swinging of the votes.
