Australia Government taping on the untoughed mental health training

The Australia Development Agency –AusAID PNG has identified one of unattended Social Mental Health issues in Papua New Guinea. Mid 2018, the call was made for expression of interest from public. This scholarship is fully funded.

In response more than six hundred (600+) Papua New Guineans applied for the scholarship. After the first stage of screening process was completed, about seventy (70) applicants were shortlisted and moved on to next level of securing a space.

The seventy (70) applicants were selected all over Papua New Guinea. They flew into Port Moresby to sit for four IELTS that includes speaking, listening, writing and reading.

The test was conducted for two days. Many of the applicants were new to IELTS but they did what they could with their abilities and went home uncertain hearts and minds.

The next stage, once the results become available within next thirteen (13 days) to the AusAID, then the committees will sit down to get final list of the candidates for the Counselling & Training Assessment Training which will be conducted in Australia Universities.

Congratulations to AusAID for targeting the neglected Social Mental Health issues in Papua New Guinea.
