The Rt Honorable Prime Minister James Marape openly said that Pangu will not endorse official Pangu
candidate to recent Menyamya by-election, in respect to the former Member.
While Peter O'Neill endorsed a wining official candidate Mr. Benjamin Philip.
While Peter O'Neill endorsed a wining official candidate Mr. Benjamin Philip.
If he’s own son can contest under Hon. Sam Basil’s party
banner. How on earth the Prime Minister gave such respect to come down low.
For any government to survive, and to prepare for 2022
general election, Prime Minister secretly endorse a candidate to keep his
government floating on the water.
Yet PNC send former Member of Parliament Mr Benjamin Philip
and he’s victory has uplift the drowning political life of PNC party in Papua
New Guinea. After winning this seat the PNC party leaders and supporters feel
that rural people still favorite PNC party because the party’s popular people
centered policies.
Goroka open seat by-election a testing time for PNC
& Pangu
Prime Minister James Marape-Pangu Party & former Prime Minister Peter O'Neill - PNC Party openly announce that they will
endorse a candidate each. Other parties will also endorse a candidate of their choices to
build-up numerical strength which will prepare them for 2022 nation general
election.
While the party leader and former Prime Minister Peter O’Neill
is lockdown in Australia due to COD19, the deputy party leader Richard
Maru formally officiate the announcement of ousted Goroka MP Henry Ame, which was witnessed by highly respected political icons of Eastern Highlands Province like Hon. Allan Benny [Ungai-Bena], Robert Atiyafa [Henganofi] at his Kefamo village outsider Goroka town. Honorable Member for Lupa open seat openly was in tears when former Prime Minister was overthrown on the floor of parliament in May 2019. These are the guys who will strongly campaign to restore the lost pride of PNC party. No other parties will have that kind of support from the political icons of Eastern Highlands Province.

Peter O’Neill is not a newcomer to Goroka town, all the
street kids knows him during schools’ days and then to running South Super
business days. There is strong support
for PNC and highly likely for PNC to easily walk to the finishing line.
PNC party name is written on impact projects in the heart
of Goroka town and these projects will be the speak for Mr Ame’s campaign.
Hon. Allan Benny is well respected and longest serving member of Parliament and
his support will open many doors for Ame to reclaim his seat.
Why Mr Ame chose the PNC party? Political logic is that albeit PNC is not in power he can reclaim his seat
under PNC easily with the support of big political guns of Eastern Highlands Province.
On other hand, Pangu will endorse a candidate and it’s
going to be biggest challenge. Pangu has little political trademark in Eastern Highlands
Province political seats, and Prime Minister James Marape is a kid in Goroka
town, so, it’s going to be challenging for Pangu to come home over PNC party.
If it does, surely, Pangu policies, its performance in last one years is speaking
the volume and 2022 will be big time ahead.
In Papua New Guinea political history, any candidates
endorsed by sitting Prime Minister always gets the upper hands and runs to the
finishing line, and hopefully this trend carry’s on to Goroka by-election come
June.
Many rural people are saying Prime Minister James Marape is
sweet talker base on no solid policies. They said we’re fade up of sugar-coated
political grandstanding.
One person on the street said, “he a photocopy leader, he
copied Peter O’Neill’s style of leadership. He has little influences, and no
wider political and business network, it’s all superficial, so I will not vote
for Pangu party candidate”.
Whichever party especially PNC & Pangu wins the Goroka
seat will go into 2022 national general election with lots of confidence while
the loser with uncertainty.
However, Goroka seat is know for many candidates lining up so the smartest one will win the seat but PNC is a horse top come home.
