Governors not with happy with the proposed COD19 SOE

The Papua New Guinea  parliament resume at 2:30 pm on the 2nd June 2020. The main issues dominate the parliament was ion COD19.

Straight after the COD19 chairman presented the report, East Sepik Governor, Eastern Highlands Governor and Madang  Governor express their concerns that albeit Papua New Guinea tested eight positive cases of COD19, transmission from the infected person to close relative are none exist. There is no evidence of COD19 to date.

Governor of Madang Peter Yama said Police have abuse the SOE power by brutalizing our citizens. The people are not our energies. Why police destroying people’s garden products? Just simply tell them to take them  back to their villages instead of destroying or pouring them on the public roads. This unacceptable behavior.

Governor of Eastern Highland Province Peter Numa said he feels qualify to make his statement because one case of COD19 positive case was from Eastern Highlands Province, and top date there is no evidence of transmission. We do not need scientists to explain it. It’s simply as the evidence presents itself of the real situation of COD19.

Sepik Governor Allan Bird said government has announced so much money in Waigaini. His province is not receive any funding support from the national government. Their account indicates only K200,0000.00, this is not enough, that is why, they use their internal revenue to do COD19 work in his province.  He further said he will not vote for the extension of COD19 because the evidence itself speaks the volume.
