Public reacts to government’s intended two months COD19 SOE

Prime Minister James Marape intend to extend two months COD19 SOE. He said that country must not go into complacent mute. We know COD19 is affecting many countries around the global. As a responsible country, we have obligation to stop COD19 in the country.

Prime Minister also acknowledge the GOD, almighty for answering many prayers from the Christians around the countries.

However, the general public want government to response to COD19 base on Papua New Guinea own exercise and not from other countries.  We have eight positive cases so far, but the transmission speaks the volume itself of the infections ability to transmit from one person to other.

What people want the government to do is strategically control the COD19. Not just blanket SOE. Following is what public think government should do:

Controlling bounder areas
These includes international airports, seaports, and land bounder area with Indonesia, and allow the people to resume back to normal life.

The government should send more security force to bounder areas to protect our nation than just blanketing the nation with COD19 SOE.

Stopping unhealthy behavior
The government should address unhealthy social and cultural acceptable behavior. This will help us prepare for possible worse if COD19 spread and affect our people.

John, Port Moresby residence said STOP buai and cooked food selling on markets. Anyone chewing buai in public places must be charge or imprison. Buai social life can also aid the spread of TB and other infections in the country.

Improve health infrastructure
Government should start improving the existing health infrastructure than just delivering sugar coated talks in the media.

In addition, public view that COD19 is not killing people left and right here, but malaria, TB, HIV, lifestyle health conditions are killing our people and it’s a daily struggle for Papua New Guineans. So, why not spend more in these areas.
